New to board....have questions.....

July 09, 2008

I am new to the board, and am so happy I have found it. It seems like a great source of information, and also a great source to get and give support.

A brief history on me(35)and DH(33). A few years back, we conceived on our 1st round of IVF (after 2+ years of TTC and failed IUI's. Immediately after the birth of our child we started TTC (naturally) again...praying we would be one of those people who miraculously get PG 'naturally' after and IVF pregnancy. Well, our prayers were answered...we conceived after 11 months of trying. Unfortunately, that ended in a stillbirth delivery at 19

+ weeks. Devistated and in grief, we started ttc again shortly after the loss.

We have been TTC for 12 months now. I have had surgery to try to remove endo. Some endo scarring remains on one ovary, but the other ovary/tube looks great...and functional.

Now to my QUESTION:

I have had spotting issues for the last 10 months. I start spotting 9dpo (have a 28 day cycle, and normally ovulate cd 13-14..confirmed thru opk's and temps). I have also started to have some nipple discharge (sorry TMI). I finally got into an RE today and had my prolactin levels checked. The RE called with my results telling me they were normal at 22. I now have to have a mamogram to make sure there are not other breast issues. The RE wants me to come in at 7dpo to check progesterone. I did have progesterone checked 2 months ago (by my obgyn) and it came back 'normal' at 10.5.

What could be the cause of spotting?? Anybody else have similar issues with spotting? RE seems to want to get to the bottom of it, but she said if the progesterone comes back 'normal' she is somewhat at a loss as to the cause.

I am soooo tired of the infertility rollercoaster....but, still have too much HOPE to get off the ride.

Caryn,

Thank you so much for the welcome......looking forward to getting to know you and others better.

I am still trying to learn how to navigate around the board(new to the board thing)....hopefully I get the hang of it soon :o)

You will Anne! Also you can search "bbreviations" for a list of the lingo on here. The Doctor tries to come on at least once a day to answer questions, but many of the women are knowledgeable in the areas of infertility.

I am sure you will find yourself right at home with the "gang!"

Hi Anne,

Many times, there truly isn't a good explanation of breakthrough bleeding, and we'll see what your RE says...but don't worry, many times this doesn't when light necessarily prevent one from getting pregnant...

Good luck, and keep us posted..
