Hi Lacey and Welcome to F/T! That is not your true period. Usually brown blood is old blood and sometimes you can get that in the beginning and/or the end of your period and even between period dates. Full full red blood when you need a pad or tampon is your real period or af (aunt flow) and that counts as cycle day 1 (cd 1).
