My Story...

July 23, 2008

Hello Everyone!! Well my husband and I have been ttc since Dec 06 with a few breaks in between. I never used to get a period when I was younger so in 01 I was finally put on birth control to help regulate my periods. Once I stopped taking it in 06 the periods stopped too. Even though I wasn't having a period my doc said i could still be ovulating (which I didn't fully believe but didn't say anything) After months of doing nothing I was fed up. I was put on provera and clomid...I got my period but nothing else. I was tired of feeling blown off by my doctor so I started seeing a new one this past February. He upped my dosage of clomid and I was finally ovulating. We tried that for another 2 months. One night while bd-ing i experienced and awful pain. I couldn't breathe, I couldn't move, I felt sick to my stomach...it was the worst pain I ever felt in my life. I went to my OB the next day and had an ultrasound done. He found that I had a cyst burst AND there was another one on my left ovary. I was pretty bummed but we talked about doing a laprascopy and cleaning out my tubes all at the same time. So July 1st they went in and drained the cyst. They also checked out my uterus and found 2 polyps on each side blocking my tubes. He pulled those out and then pushed the dye thru, and thankfully, it passed with no problem. We are good to go now. The Dr said there is no reason to go back on the meds. So here I am, its Day 31 and no AF. I was told that the surgery may delay AF but part of me is worried that I'll never get it just like when I was younger. If AF doesn't come by next week I'm going to call the Dr to see what I should do. Is there anyone out there who can relate to any of this? I feel very alone considering most of my friends have had babies or are pg now...no one seems to understand what its like to go thru this.

July 23, 2008

is it 31 days since surgery? it seems as if the cysts were blocking your chance at concieving i think you would still need clomid though to ovulate

July 23, 2008

maybe you should see a re

July 23, 2008

I'm kinda new to the lingo sorry...but its day 31 since my last period started. I thought about asking to stay on the clomid just to boost the chances of ovulating. Well we'll see if its just delayed from the surgery (which was the 1st of the month). Then I'll call the doc. What is an re?

TTC08..welcome to the site! Sorry to hear that you have been having issues with your doc/period/ovulation and all the rest. I hope that the women on this site will be a great sounding born and be able to help you through your journey! Godo luck to you and tons and tons of baby dust! I hope that it isn't much longer and that you will post a BFP soon!

July 23, 2008

Thanks so much Fran...by just reading some stories today and already having people respond to me has really helped. Although I feel everyone's pain as far as not getting pg...it's great to have others out there going thru the same things. Its good to have someone that understands.

July 25, 2008

I don't know if anyone is reading this but I figured I would add a little bit. Tomorrow will be cd34 and I still have no signs of af coming...I bought an hpt to test with in the am. I guess I have in the back of my mind that it will be - but I guess it's worth a shot, right? I'll just have to go from there...

July 26, 2008

Did you test TTC?

July 26, 2008

yeah and it was - (I guess i should have known). I was very frustrated this morning. It just seems like everyone knows what to do as far as knowing when then o and I can't seem to follow mine. It seems like no matter what I do I just can't get it right. :(

July 26, 2008

i would try the clomid this next month you can ask your doc to run some blood and then he can give you something to get period and then start clomid it will be okay i hate going though this just tr not to let it take over your life.

July 26, 2008

I have used clomid before and I am trying to tell my self that i had semi blocked tubes before...so now is different. I'm trying to stay positive...it just sucks. But I have some provera still at home and I guess I can take that to get AF to start and then do the clomid. Isn't there blood tests I can do during my cycle to see if I am even oing?

July 29, 2008

Well I just got off the phone with a nurse at my dr's office. Since my period didn't start this month she told me to take provera. So soon I should be back at cd1 and starting a fresh cycle. I never thought I would be so happy for a period to start!!!

July 29, 2008

a fresh new start! :) Try using opk's (ovulation predictor kit) to try to track ovulation- it takes out some of the guessing game!

July 29, 2008

TTC:

I just finished Cycle 1 on Clomid and IUI...it didn't work. I am on my Cycle 2 on same dosage of clomid as Cycle 1.

You can actually get blood work done to see your Progestrone level to determine whether or not you have ovulated. That's what my RE did after a BFN. I did in fact ovulated so I got my visit from AF on CD 30.

Baby Dust to you on your fresh cycle.

July 29, 2008

Yes this will be my first month doing that. The nurse said to start around cd11 since we really aren't sure when I will o. I'm also going to chart my bbt. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this month!! :)

July 29, 2008

Thank you Angie. This will be my first month actually OFF of clomid. After my surgery the dr said there was no reason why i shouldn't be able to do this naturally. So I'm willing to give it a shot for the first month and just chart everything. But if it looks like nothing is happening I was considering going in and getting blood work during my cycle. Good luck with your new cycle too!!

Baby Dust to you...

I know how you feel on being excited for a period to start. You can read my story under Jolenes Journey Part 2.

I think that taking the Provera is a good idea, and I think that doing Clomid for a few more rounds is a great idea as well. If it was getting you to ovulate its def going to help you, and now that tubes are wide open and all that, I see a pregnancy in your near future :)

I did 5 rounds of Clomid, I was going to have my tubes checked after 2 round of femara if 5 rounds of clomid didnt take, but the 4th did, then miscarried and then the 5th took and now im 23weeks 3days pregnant.

I hope my story helps you more, its pretty detailed in the sense of all the Clomid and appointments and all that.

And yes there is a blood test they can do to check if you are ovulating and its called a Progesterone Test. Ask for it. They usually like to do it around CD21 or so, because usually thats about 5-8DPO for most women. Just depends on ovulation of course. I had my progesterone tests done on 6-7DPO everytime.

Also using OPKs are great. I would start them around CD10 of your cycle, and once you get a positive have sex that night, the night after (ovulation), and the next night which would be after ovulation.

We used to start having sex on CD8-until I got my positive OPK and then that night and next 2 nights.

Im wishing you the best, and please keep us posted we are here for you adn totally understand your pain.

July 29, 2008

Thank you so much for the info Jolene. I know I have not been through as much as some others have and I already find myself getting upset and confused. I'm hoping that things work out soon...my dr seems positive so thats what I'm trying to feed off of :) I'm so very happy that you were able to get your bfp...thats just awesome :) Good luck with the rest of your journey. We'll talk again...I'm sure more questions will come up :)

July 29, 2008

Your welcome and you have been through a lot sweetie! Just going through some is a lot. Its all hard. We are wishing you the best and that you get a BFP soon!

July 30, 2008

has anyone ever heard of the cue II?? Its a type of opk...

July 30, 2008

TTC08.. no i havent heard of that OPK be4.

July 30, 2008

me either.

August 01, 2008

maybe this sounds dumb but it got me thinking today...what if, becuase of my surgery and what not the begining of the month, I ovulated later than normal. So if I was to have gotten pg it would be too soon to tell. Today would be cd39 though. So I'm nervous now that I was told to start taking my provera. I did take a test on cd34 and cd37 and those were negative. Am I just confusing myself now??? idk what to do....

August 01, 2008

Did the doctor do a blood test before he told you to take Provera? I wouldn't worry too much! I know I know...easier said than done but we all have to stop thinking too much, including myself! Good luck, TTC!!!

August 01, 2008

hey angie...No the nurse said that because i took 2 tests and both came back negative that it would be ok to start taking the pills. I agree...I definatly think about things too much and it just ends up driving me crazy :) haha thanks so much for responding

August 03, 2008

still no af...i don't know what the deal is. I'm trying not to think about it but I'm getting a little frustrated...ugh..
