I have my old LH kit from before my first pregnancy, and now want to try again. I just saw that it’s expired a couple of months ago, is it any good still?
You should first check to see the expiration date and go from there, if you're over by a few months, it should still be ok...however, if it's more than a year, I wouldn't necessarily trust it. In terms of kit always being positive, this sometimes happens with people that have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome...basically they produce more LH than normal which turns the kit positive continuously.
Dr. Q. if that is the case that the PCOS patient's always turn the kit positive, what strategies can they use to predict ovulation? On the clomid, my cervical mucous has changed so I can't use that to predict and basal body temperature as I understand it only indicates you've ovulated after the fact. I am thinking of purchasing the Clear Blue Easy Digitial test and it says that it check for 2 hormones so maybe it will work better in that case? What do you think of the Clear Blue Easy Digital?
R u sure they r positive or r they just always showing a second line? I made that mistake when I tarted useing them. I thought if they had another line it was positive when in fact the second line is almost always there but it needs to be as dark or darker than the control line to be positive.
With clomid u sd be able to pinpoint ovulation even with pcos. Just make sure u don't take the test until 3days after ur last I'll otherwise it can give a false pos. If u r in doubt just BD every other day from days 11 to 25 to make sure u catch ovulation. A lot of ladies ovulate late on clomid.
