My Journey
November 08, 2007
My husband and I started TTC our first child in October 2005. We are still working toward our dream of becoming parents, but are struggling. I never knew that having a baby could be this difficult!
Yeah, for some people, TTC is so easy. Then there are others (such as myself and everyone here) that have to really work for it. It's heartbreaking and depressing, but I keep telling myself that the longer I TTC, the more I will love, care for, and appreciate my future child and my ability to become pregnant.
Thanks BabyDez! It means a lot to me!!
I'm definately not pregnant, so that means it's time to move on to something more drastic than just trying ourselves... I have a fertility class that I will attend on May 21st and when I leave that class, I'll have everything I need to go get all the fertility testing done. Once the testing has been completed, I get to schedule an appointment with the RE.
I'm excited and I'm staying positive that my journey will have a happy ending soon, as with all of us TTC girls!

Hi WannaBe! I am very impressed by your optimism! I have been feeling so angry and sad...its hard not to get consumed by the fustration.
Beckster - Something I recently figured out - I was charting a few years ago, but then I got really lazy and relied on the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor and the OV Watch. They both told me I ovulated on cd 14/15. Well, I decided to start charting again last month and my BBT's showed I ovulated on cd 17/18! So I would suggest using both methods and not just rely on one :)

Trust me, it's hard a lot of the times. I just got done being upset for the last couple of days... The way I figure it, it isn't going to help by getting upset... getting proactive will help. Getting help from a doctor will help. That's my next step.
How long have you been TTC? Any other kids?
The OV Watch is one I tried too. It doesn't work for me... even when I took the watch off for more than 5 days in a row, it still kept working. If there was no sweat, how was it reading? That's when I stopped using it.
Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor is great, though, so I've heard.

Yes I did and it was great. Since I was in the middle of my cycle when I went, I have to wait until AF shows and schedule an HSG for sometime between CD 8 and CD 12. I already have the script for the antibiotics they want me to take before and after having it done. Then, I am to use ClearBlue Easy digital OPK's from CD 12 - CD 21 or CD 22. If no positive, I am supposed to go in for my blood work anytime after that. If I do get a positive OPK, I am supposed to come in on CD 22 for blood work. Anytime in between, my hubby can do his SA. He's not as freaked out about it as I thought he would be! It's awesome!
Anyway, after all this is done, I will finally get my first RE appointment. Unfortunately, all this is going to take at least another cycle before figuring anything out.
I'm on CD 22 and have been spotting since CD 16. Don't know what to think about that, other than low progesterone or wacked out hormones... either way, I don't like it!

It was so funny, I finally broke down and called the infertility nurses and had to leave a message. I just gave them my medical number, name, and told them I had a question and asked them to please call me back. The next day they called me back and AF had come full flow that morning, Friday of last week. It just took me threatening to call the nurses! LOL!
While I had her on the phone, I scheduled the HSG for this coming Friday (6/6) and so I am finally on my way to an answer!
