My hcg is too low? Please help!

Today is 35 days since my last period began (aug 1 was day 1, and its oct 3 today) and 19 dpo. I got a positive pregnancy test earlier this week. My doctor says that my hcg count is 80 miu. And while it didnt exactly double, she said it came close to doubling from the test they did 2 days ago. Is 80 too low for 19 dpo?

The value is ok, and so long as it increases by 66% every other two days is what's expected

Thanks Dr.Q. I had a little brownish discharge today. That is why i am so afraid. If I get through the weekend without any more discharge or bleeding, do you think I am out of the woods then? My lower back keeps hurting a lot and my motherinlaw says that it is a very bad sign. Do you think so?

Hi Ss, the lower back pain could go either way..doesn't mean you're gonna have a miscarriage. Brownish discharge is usually old blood, I'd worry more if it was bright red and you had cramping too. Like Dr. Q said, the hcg numbers rising at least the 66% is what's important right now. Once you see or hear the heartbeat your miscarriage rate goes down and that is usually around week 7. Hang in there and keep us posted :)

Congrats by the way!

***sticky Glue***

I would get another Beta 2 days from ur last to see whats going on. Im sure all will be well because ur Dr says its 'close' to doubling. I would also call ur Dr and let her know abt the brown spotting, many women have brown spotting during very early pregnancy. I hope it all turns out well. Good luck ur way and keep us posted

The doctor has ordered a follow up beta test for next friday. That is a whole 7 days from now. I should just pray and hang in there....

Hi SS, 7 days from now, how would you know if your Beta is actually doubling? It needs to be taken every 2 days. May be ur Dr is doing after 7 days because when the HCG reaches 1000 miu, u will be able to see atleast a sac in the uterus. I would still try convincing ur Dr getting a beta today. I hope it all works out, keeping u in my prayers.

I agree, a beta needs to be taken sooner than the 7 days. Call your doc :) Good Luck!

Hey everyone...got some bad news this morning. The doctor oncall told me that my first count was 59 (on wednesday) and only 79 (on friday). She wants to do another followup tomorrow (sunday), but she does not have much hope as the numbers were nowhere near doubling. I am not bleeding, but just have a really bad lower backache. Till I get the hcg results from tomorrow, I really do not know what to think. But I dont think there is hope anymore. It was a chemical pregnancy and I vested too much of my emotions in it.
