My First IVF/ICSI journey

Hello,

Don't really know what to write I am new to all this. I'm 30 and my husband 42 and we've been ttc for over 7 years since the day we got married! After 4 failed IUI's we are now due to have IVF with ICSI. Went for a scan today and they counted 21 follicles (don't know if this is good or not). I'm due to have the HCG injection in 10 minutes and go in for egg collection on Friday morning. I hope you will follow my journey and we can all support each other. :-)

Hi Joanne, wishing you all the best during this journey. I hope the retrieval goes well. Are you doing a 3 or 5 day? Well, I hope all the eggies make it to the 5th day and they get great grades! Keep us posted and sending lots of baby dust your way.

Hiya, it's an NHS cycle so they will only go to 3 day I think. Baby dust to you both too :-)

Joanne, I too had my first IVF with ICSI and assisted hatching....I had 13 eggs collected...I believe 21 is great..I am 42 so they were pleased with that number for me...good luck tomorrow.

Well I had egg retrieval today and they collected 17 eggs out of the 21 follicles. The emryologist will call me tomorrow to let me know how many if any have fertilised. Fingers crossed!

Well the embryologist called and they managed to fertilise 9 eggs so transfer on Monday!

hey joanne, my sister did ivf + icsi which resulted in a son 5 years ago!

Feeling down today and don't think it's worked. I'm having period pain cramps, no backache and my boobs only hurt when I poke them lol.

I'm feeling like it hasn't worked. I'm now 11dpo and the soreness in my boobs is wearing off and I have period pain like cramps. How is everyone else?

hello joanne, i'm only 7 dpo and also feeling symtomps wearing off i just feel boated and backpain, but be patien you nearly there, when you due for Bt, mine in 29 i don't know why they make it 21 days from egg pick up it should be sooner

Hi Joanne, I hope it works fingers crossed. I thought my period was coming as well and then i was pregnant so sometime those signs are very trick. All the signs where there and AF never came hehe.

I had menstrual cramps alot starting the 3rd day after transfer. Now it's day 5 & I have a little cramps, but then someimtes I feel totally fine like I could do sit-ups, I feel nothing at all! My test isn't until next Monday. Hoping & praying we both get BFP then!!!
