My story in short. We did our first IUI on July 28 miscarried at 15 weeks on Oct 29th. They couldn't find any reason, just one of those things that happen. Second IUI on December 16 that didn't work. We have decided to move onto IVF I have limited amount that my insurance covers so we wanted to go for it. I am so scared and i have no idea what to expect. I just started BCP 2 days ago. Does anyone have any stories on what to expect.

Hi Carrie,

You'll see that there are several users on FertilityTies that are and/or have underwent IVF. I'm hopeful they'll find you, but also browse around some journeys and simply ask them, and am confident they'll provide you with all of the answers and support needed

Carrie. I went through a cycle of IVF after 4 failed IUI and Clomid cycles. After one cycle, I am so fortunate to say that I am pregnant with twins. I am 8 weeks 4 days today. There a lot of inspirational women on this site that went through IVF who got their BFP and some are still trying to acheive their dream of a baby. You will soon see that these ladies will support you through thick and thin and share their experiences along the way.

As for me, I had PCOS pretty badly and my DH had some issues with sperm count and morphology. We did clomid and IUI for 4 cycles and I actually did get pregnant on my 4th cycle but unfortunately ended in a chemical pregnancy. So we decided to try IVF. It was a long journey for me. There were many highs and definitely a lot of lows. But got through the journey with all the support from FT.

If you have any questions along your journey feel free to ask....

Hi Carrie - I've also just started my very first IVF cycle and it's really great to find someone else who's going through the same thing at the same time. I just finished my BCP's and started Lupron 7 days ago. I have my first US and bloodwork appt on Thursday. I previously did 5 cycles of just Clomid, then 4 Clomid with IUI before deciding to move forward with IVF. I'm really nervous about the whole process, but am trying to be as optimistic as possible! I've read so many encouraging stories of success on this site, so please know that there are people here to support you!

Caryn, Thank You so much for sharing.

Angie- It is so good to hear of your success, I am very hopeful that this will work my RE told me that we have a 60% chance. DH morphology is at about 4%. I do not have any problems. I am hoping for twins, Congratulations!!!

Tarheel- I just started my BCP 3 days ago. I just got my protocal in the mail today and freaked out a little. I start my Lupron on January 22nd. Are you having any side effects from the Lupron?

Thank You everyone for your responses, it is comforting to know that I'm not alone. Out of all of my friends I am the only one thats not pregnant. ANd they don't understand everything that i am going through.

Hi Tarheel- my name is Kelly and I am getting ready to start my 2nd IVF cycle. You can click on my photo and read my story in detail but basically I did my first IVF cycle in July and got pregnant with a baby girl. Unfortunately we lost the pregnancy at 19 weeks (unrelated to IVF- the IVF went just fine). Now my DH and I are gearing up for another go round. I'm hoping to start my cycle end of Jan or early Feb. So we may be on a similar cycle. After having gone through IVF before and reading every book, pamphlet, and website on the subject, I feel like a pro. We're using frozen embryos this time so our cycle will be a little different but will still have a lot of similar meds. I'm here if you need anything!

Carrie~ I am 32 wks along with an ivf baby. My son was conceived (now 3) naturally first cycle. #2 took 2 yrs and we ended up doing ivf. Got prego on the first try. Its a lot of shots, and lots of trips for blood work..but so worth it. I hate needles, and I handled it fine. All in all, it took about 6 wks from start to finish for me.

Good luck to you hun!

So did anyone have bad side effects from the meds? I was on Bravelle for my IUI but it didn't really phase me too bad. I am really wondering about the Lupron.

Kellytren- Thank You so much for sharing your story with me.

Kelli- I can't stand all the bloodwork, I usually pass out at the site of needles so this has been very hard for me. My DH hates giving me injections....poor guy, I scream the whole time.

No I didn't notice any side effects. The docs do try to watch you close for any signs of hyperstimulation from the stim meds. They said if you have blurred vision, trouble breathing, etc. it could be that but otherwise no problems. A few times I did have some bruising at an injection site but all that fades.
