I just bought the cookbook that Jerry Seindfeld’s wife wrote called “Deceptively delicious” and wondering if anyone has used it and it worked?

My kids were with me when i bought it and they were excited to try some of the things in it but just wondering if they are tasty?

I am and i have very picky eaters adn would love to get all of us eating better :)

I haven't used the book chels but keep me posted if it works for you and your kids. My six year old son is the pickiest eater in the world (a while ago he spent three weeks only eating yellow food!?!!) and I'm always tearing my hair out trying to get different veg etc into him.

Keep me posted

thanks

i sure will, with the kids being excited about trying it will help for sure. They are happy to trick my DH cuz he HATES green beans so they wanna make him dinner with a bunch of green beans in it and laugh while he eats it.

They are 10 and 12 so thats fun for them! LOL!

I am very picky and was terrible as a child so i catered to them which was a bad idea - then i got re married and my DH was like why are you making 3 diff meals every night for dinner?!?!? Thats nuts, so each night the kids would have to try something new and now they are so much better, but again, they are older. At 6 they would have sat at the table in tears all night if i made them try something new!!!

lol that will be funny. . .let me know if dh eats it!!

My little guy is unreal. . .if you put a carrot on his plate by accident he HAS to get a new plate or he just won't eat. . . he is just as stubborn as his dad!!!! He eats so much protein I swear he's on the aktin's diet!!

Hopefully if this ttc works for us I will get an eater this time like Mommy lol.

It gets better as they age, really, as long as you keep asking them to try stuff.

We went thru stuff like that too tho - my son wouldnt eat the waffle if i cut it or if i cut his sandwich into triangles instead of in half..... i dont miss that stuff! LOL!

i havnt - we went up north for a bit so i didnt get to. BUT i went to the grocery store and bought butternut squash, spinich, sweet potatoes, carrots (YUCK!) and some other kind of veggie that would never be in the house to start this week. My daughters bday is today and my sons is thursday so they get to pick a special dinner on their bdays but 2moro i get to pick so i think its gonna be the mini whole wheat pizzas with spinich! Mmmmm...... well, hopefully mmmmmm - lol!

2night its mexican and thursday its chicken nuggets, white rice and french fries... no veggies on their bdays :)

so far we have had the spegheti pizza, eggs and chicken nuggets. The kids ate all of it. Each one of them had sweet potatoes and butternut squash in them, including the eggs. It was crazy, you couldnt taste it at all! The kdis knew it was in there and were actually trying to taste the "nasty veggies". lol

I bought avacado and zuchini this week to get some more variety..... i wont be pureeing broccoli, cauliflower, corn or bean (wax and green) since the kids like those veggies but i am so excited about this! :)

newest recipe we tried last night from the book was lasagna. I used spinach, sweet potatoes in the sauce and kids ate it up and loved it. Im sure the pile of cheese on top didnt hurt much tho! I also used wheat noodles and regular noodles and just used half and half. Kids never knew the difference until my son saw one and said “ewww, this one is rotten” so I had to spill the beans and let him know it was a whole wheat noodle! LOL!

We will soon go into the desserts but this week we have the mac and cheese with white beans and pancakes with beets..... the beets sound gross to me but I’ll give it a try! ha, ha, ha

WOW Chels you really are doing great with that

My DS only eats mac n cheese, I mix carrots in it and Sw potatoes and sometimes squash, but he is clever and sometimes can "taste " it.. and says its Yucky.. its a battle everynight at my house at dinner time :( But he is only 2, I just got him to eat a bananna "goGurt!"

my kids were sooooo picky, unreal i swear!!! They are now getting better. I was never strong enough to fight that battle but now my DH wants them to eat with us and eat healthy so he stood his ground and they had to try a spoonful of whatever we were eating each meal and then it got better over the year. My dd wouldnt eat ANYTHING mixed together - no casoroles, only kraft mac and cheese, only white rice and white pasta and white bread. It was crazy how picky they were. I made 3 diff meals for dinner each night. My ds loved protein and dd only ate carbs, between the 2 of them they could eat a meal.

It took a little over a year but they are soooo much better now, my dd found out that she loves shrimp, lasagna and my son loves tacos and burgers which he would not touch ever!

You should grab this book, maybe he would eat some of the sweets that are in the book? Kids are like that and it gets better if you work with them like you are :)
