miscarriages and fertility

August 16, 2007

I have had two miscarriages within two years, the first was at 15 weeks and the second at 17 weeks both girls. My husband and I are trying to concieve and it is taking us awhile abut 7 months now. The doctor told us that there was no infections and that my sac kept bursting. I am wondering is there any medications that can be taken to strengthen the sac or placenta, and what is a good fertility medication that we can take. I have been monitoring my ovaluation and still we have not concieved. Please send your advice. Do you think my progestrone levels could affect me being able to hold the child and what are the chances of this happening again?

Thanks Shermane Reed

Sometimes, you may have to consult a Perinatologist who can give you better answers in this case, and Intramuscular 17 Progesterone is given to prevent preterm labor, but again...would highly recommend you visit this type of doctor early on in your pregnancy and that doctor can also make sure you had an adequate medical work-up and give further recommendations, let us know what they say, and keep us posted and we can further help then

Thanks I will check into that. I have appointment to see my doctor Tuesday. Do you think I should mention to him anything about clomid since it is taking us awhile. 7 months now

Hi Shermane,

It never hurts to ask your doctor about anything and highly encourage all of our users to do so.(including Clomid and the worst he/she'll say is that you don't have trouble getting pregnant)
