Miscarriage and falling pregnant again

July 17, 2007

3 weeks i had a complete natural miscarriage at 7 weeks, at the ultrasound after the miscarriage they found that i had a large cyst on each ovary, could this have caused the miscarriage? And also what chances do i have of carrying full term if i fall pregnant again now, before i go through my first natural cycle?

The large cysts were most likely corpus luteal cysts which are essential in most women to help maintain the pregnancy throughout the first trimester. We know that if we "stop" these cysts (luteolysis), that the pregnancy will be lost.

If you're under 35 and this was your first miscarriage, your chance for a successful pregnancy next time is about 80-85%, which is great! Wishing you the best of luck!
