Another med to consider although more costly would be rosiglitazone or pioglitazone, but would talk to your doc about this...

Thanks for directing me to that post Hope. Big help! Stomach is still upset, and I feel nauseas almost all morning (cause I take it at night)... i felt so bad, I was like "is this what morning sickness is like?" I don't know that'll i'll be able to make it. I even took a pregnancy test just to make sure... BFN of course.
I told DH that if this makes me ovulate (i'm taking femara this month w/ the metformin), I will suck it up and stay on this as long as I need to...but if I don't ovulate this month, we might be going off this stuff!
I'm not sure if you remember my journey, but the 1st 3 rounds of clomid I didn't ovulate that I know of. But on the 2nd cycle I got a + digital OPK on CD 30, then AF came on CD35. Then round 3 of clomid showed no ovulation on my progesterone test and I'm currently on CD40....just waiting....
I started the Metformin about 6 weeks ago, so I'm hoping that will get my body back on track. My doc wants be to take a break from the clomid for a cycle, then if nothing, he will increase me to 150mg of clomid with the Metformin probably in August. I'm praying I'll be pregnant by then though.
Anyways...so that's where I'm at....I'm also trying to do my eliptical for at least 30 minutes a day, some days I will do 45 minutes. So maybe I will lose a few pounds.
Hope you are doing well and just wanted to check on you!
Wishing you lots of Babydust!!!
I just started taking Metformin about 3 weeks ago and the side effects are tough but I am hoping that this stomach discomfort will pass. I have PCOS and I do not have diabetes but my doc thought this medicine would help me conceive. I am taking Femara with Metformin this month and I have my u/s on July 21st. I have taken Femara for 3 months with no success so hopefully the combo works. How have you felt on the Metformin?
