I have a friend that when she gets AF it is very heavy for at least seven days. It is accompanied by abdominal pain and blood clots the size of quarters. She has been to several doctors and no one seems to be able to pinpoint anything.
Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this?

with this much clotting, uterine evaluation may be warranted to make sure there's no fibroids/polyps creating this..If she's younger, even a hematological evaluation for coagulopathy should be considered...
