Menopause

I have started my ICI process and will start my "menopause" drug tonight. I'm worried what kind of ramifications these drugs will have on my body once I've completed the treatment. Any ideas?

I'm assuming the menopause drug you're referring about is Lupron, which basically temporarily stops the production of hormones from the pituitary that will stop the production of estrogen.

This drug gets eliminated from the body and only has a half life (1/2 of the drug is eliminated from the body) of 3 hours, and is usually completely eliminated after a day (hence the daily administration).

Once your treatment is over as you can see, the drug is pretty much gone and lupron has been around long enough that people who have used it have not entered an earlier menopause or any other ramnification that has been reported.

The problem only arises when this drug is used over months at a time (>6months) when there is an increased risk of osteoporosis. Not to worry with the short term use and when used in combination with fertility drugs that create estrogen that prevents osteoporosis.

I'm taking 20 cc's of Superfact, 75 mg Menopur, & 150 mg Braveile

Suprefact is basically the same as Lupron, and is regarded as a "menopausal drug"...looks like you're on your way and we're wishing you the best of luck, and keep us posted!
