Mature follicle size and clomid

My RE's office considers 16mm-20mm follicles to be mature. I have read somewhere that follicles grow 1-2mm on a daily basis. If that's true, than it looks like you may have a total of 4 mature follicles by the time the ovidrel shot works. My understanding of the ovidrel injection is that it take about 24-36 hours to work. I'm pretty sure the doctors will correct me if I am inaccurate with my calculations. You are asking a VERY GOOD question.

Yes. The trigger shot will perform that final maturation on all the follicles. With my miscarriage, I got pregnant with twins with 16's. So, it's definitely possible. You will ovulate 36 hrs after trigger giving your follicles another day or so to grow. Good luck.

Everything over 14mm can be mature... hard to know for sure...

Thanks. Does it significantly increase my chances for pregnancy if I have 4 follicles instead of 2? I would think it would. (I know it increases my chances for multiples but would be thrilled if I had twins)

No I understand there is nothing I can say. I lost my twins at 23 1/2 weeks just a little over 3 months ago from an infection related to my ovary removal. That day in the hospital was the scariest thing I ever went through.
