I am 26 years old & I have been going to an RE for about 1 month now. At my 1st appointment he told me he thought I have endometriosis, we did laproscopy about 1 week ago. After the procedure the surgeon came out and told my husband that I did infact have endometriosis, stage 3 finding 38 impants and a large cyst that was 3/4 the size of my ovary, he removed all of the endo. He then told my husband that he is suggesting we do Lupron for 3 months before starting IUI. I am just wondering is Lupron used to treat severe symptoms of endo? Or is it going to help increase or chances of successful IUI? I am planning on speaking to my doctor about this but my post op appointment isn't until next week, and I was not able to after surgery. I am just trying to gather any info I can. We have been trying to get pregnant for 16 months, and I want to do so ASAP. I know it sounds silly but I don't want to postpone the IUI to treat symptoms that are not what I would label as severe. Any information you can give me would be helpful. Thanks!

So you can go either way. You could choose to proceed with a couple of IUI attempts and then revisit the Lupron if those attempts are unsuccessful.

hi every one, i need advice pls. i am 29 and have been on metformin for two months for my pcos; i am thinking on starting clomid on my own, does anybody think that is sensible?

I got pregnant this second time directly after lupron therapy. And I mean DIRECTLY!! My doctor never discussed IUI with us. We got pregnant completely natural after 3 months of lupron therapy. I have moderate to severe endometriosis. My baby is due in October. Good luck!! :)

My RE suggested the lupron too, although for 6 months instead of 3. I had stage 4 endo, and she removed all she could laparoscopically, but I had a lot of endometriomas that she couldn't remove because she would have had to remove a large chunk of my ovaries as well. Anyway, I made the mistake of googling lupron (don't do that!), and then decided that lupron was NOT for me (although it probably would have helped my situation).

Instead we did 1 IUI in the cycle directly following my laparoscopy, and I got my 1st ever BFP after 5 years of ttc! Sadly the baby was ectopic and I lost my right tube out of the deal, but I did get a BFP directly after my surgery for endo, without taking the lupron. So, I think you can go either way=).
