Low Sperm Count, Low Mobility, varicocele, PCOS

Hello Dr. I need a little advice. My DH had his 2 SA test, and both of them have below results.Ph: 8.1 (normal 7.2-8.00)

Motile: 10% (normal 20% per some websites but result sheet says 50%)

Normal forms(Morphology): 32% (normal 30%)

Sperm count: 3.7 million(normal 20m)

All his blood tests are normal, but he was diagnosied by low grade varicocele. Do you think thats the reason for his low Sperms counts.

We currenlty do not have any insurance for infertility treatments and we do not want to start IUI or IVF now. We will get our good insurance in Jan.

But in mean time we want to get my DH things fixed? What are the options. I also have PCOS and i also do not ovulate by my own

Hi Hope, we had similar issues. My DH was diagnosed the same and he had 4 mill sperms... we started tablets and in 3 months he had a little more than 4 mill. We got his surgery done in Nov'09 then as although many say the results vary, we wanted to try it out just in case. We get our results in March as it takes abt 4 months post surgery for the results. Would be better if u talk to his urologist first abt his tests, fsh etc...
