Ok DR Q,

My question for you is my husband is 38yrs old and has in the past has had trouble geting a erction. He has been on vigira to help him out. He took it for about 2 months. Now he is not on it. And at times not all the time but just sometimes has a hard time still. When a man has a hard time with geting a erction can that mean he has low sperm?

Hi Neecy,

If the erection is primarily psychogenic in origin, of which the vast majority of the time it is, then there is little to no correlation between ED and Sperm Count...

However, if ED is due to long standing Diabetes, extensive Cigarrette smoking, pituitary/testiscular abnormalities, then there is something that can affect both ED and Sperm Count...

Hi Dr Q,

Ok Will my husband is a dibeatic. Now from what you are saying anytime a man has a hard time with a erction that means there is a low chance of him geting me pergent am I right? Im asking because we are TTC baby #2. And it has been a year now since we been trying. NOw he is no longer on Medcine for geting a erction he is uselly able to get one now. Just once in awhile it can be a prbolem. What adive do you have for us?

So long as he can have an erection and ejaculate, the sperm count is most likely good...Since you've been ttc for over a year though, you should consider visiting a doc for testing and some help...
