Low Progesterone

Many people use these creams...their efficacy is questionable, always best to use micronized progesterone vaginal tablets that any compounding pharmacy can make or purchase some already packaged made by pharmaceuticals : Crinone, Endometrin, Prometrium to name a few...

Progesterone is taken the day after ovulation and stopped 14days later unless preggos..

So, How often would I use the vaginal tablets? Once a day? Also, can you get the vaginal tablets without a prescription?

Could low progesterone be the reason I haven't conceived yet (after 29-30 months)? Sorry for so many questions. I am very curious!

A prescription is needed, and most of them are twice a day, but depends on the brand purchased...

I used the cream when I was first pregnant with Asher. I have no idea if it helped at all since it was the first/only time I ever tried it. Maybe you could call your Dr. and ask for a rx for the Provera since you got your peak today. Let him know you want to try it and see if it helps with the spotting.

What type of progesterone cream do you suggest? I'd like to try that first. Any particular brand, any specific ingredient I should look for or avoid?

I would definitly ask your doctor for a day 21 progesterone check. This way you can know for sure if your progesterone level is low. And if it is then they can put you on either provera or prometrium... these meds are much stronger and work better than the creams... Good luck sweetie! baby dust to you:)

wannabe - its a really simple blood test that they take on day 21 of your cycle - they can see if you are in fact ovulating and if you have enough prog in your system to sustain a pregnancy?

Do you have progesterone symptoms around the time of AF every?

Have do run a test on day 3 and on day 21 - demand it if they are being strange - you pay for it so you should be able to have the test.

I took prog after my IUI's and IVF cycle even tho i make plenty of prog on my own. After the IUI's he gave me suppositories and i put one in at bed time. After the IVF i took intermuscular injections of prog.

Chelsha - Did the progesterone work with helping you to get pregnant? We've been trying for a long time and I'm wondering if this is what is stopping me from conceiving...

nope, but i have 2 children with out any fertiltiy issues at all. The prog was just a precaution that my RE uses. I dont need it, mine is always fine when i get it checked and im not on any progesterone.

YOu can concieve without having enough prog just cant sustain the pregnancy so if you have low prog it is a very easy fix!

Has your doc ever done any tests on you? My OB did day 3 and day 21 tests the first time i went into the office and i had only been trying for a few motnhs at that point.
