Who needs to lose weight loss and to get healthier? Who wants to join me...I'm starting tomorrow, April 1st, 2008. I have a plan of attack on my bloody hips, big bum, stomach and just wanting to get plan healthier!!!!!..

I think it would be a great idea to have the support during the good and bad days. I'm planning on being very rough on myself. I'm tired of feeling like this who else feels like this!!!!

IM TOTALLY IN ANGELA!!!

I was just saying last night that i need to get workin out cuz that is the worst for me!!! I have friends but NONE of them will take a class with me and my hubby works out in the gym that we have in the basement BUT im such a girl that i wont go and work out down there cuz its icky and spiders live there..... no matter how much i try and ignore it i still just want to vaccumm when i get down to the weight room! LOL!

Im in, i have a month b4 i start up with IVF injections so i wont be all sleepy and bloated til then :)

I do Body for Life...its a diet based on a book written by Bill Phillips. Exercise 6 days a wk alternating cardio and weights. Eat 6 small balanced meals on those 6 days..and your 7th day is FREE..no exercise or watching what you eat! Works great!

ok girl thinking of the name to give to us..what do you think. The area I live in it is hard for me also. I like trying to do it inside but now the weather is getting lovely and plus we changed our time...I'm happy about that...plus I think the dh will try.

I'm going to lay out my plan today and do my measurements with my body and weight also...I'll get the dh to do that. I was babysitting another house for 5 days just getting back and they had the big mirror and I really liked at myself and I was so sick. So I decided this weekend would be the last weekend be me to be a pig and restart April Fool's day because I'm a fool about my health. My dh is very supportive about it and loves me the way I am but I'm worried about so many thinks. My mum died last year at 55 from a stroke and she had diabicites (sp) and my gran had heart issues. Plus we have cancer and I had a scare a few years ago with a lump in my right breast so I'm worried.

You guys this is an AWESOME post- and couldnt come at a better time- I need to start doing some walking in the evenings when I get home from work. I know I wont be pushing it and jogging like I was before I fell off the band wagon a few months ago ;) But I wanna keep going!!

I wish I lived in the same neighborhood as all of you, and we could all go walking jogging, take classes etc together! How awesome would that be?? :)

i would really honestly like to lose 20 but i will settle for 10 right now...... i'd like to get to super thin and then get preggo so i dont look like a house while i am pregnant LOL!

I weigh almost 150, i think about 146 or so and i am a little taller than 5'6". When i got married one year ago i was about 20 pounds lighter and would like to get back to that cuz i was more comfy with myself at that point.

I think i would much rather tone up then actually lose weight ya know? I'd like to be healthy for once in my life :)

Thank you Lori...just make sure you speak with your dr about it ok. Because some dr's are worried when their patients start excerise while preggo. I know my dr doesn't mind if you were excerising before getting preggo but he (now this is him) he is very worried if you start it while preggo.

I understand! Just know this that there are loads of things that it could be or simply nothing at all. When I had my issue I told the dr that I will be keeping my breast and he better not cut them at all. I grew them and it's my body and I'm keeping them to the better end!!!!

Count me in girls! I am 5'4' and weight 250lbs,so I am around 100 pounds overweight. I dont want to lose it all at once. I want to lose like 20 pounds at a time. It is gonna be so wonderful to finally have weight loss and exercise buddies! I think we should all post weight loss tickers to how our progress! lol! Well I think if you can think of a name let us know and we can take a vote or just decide...I'm really easy on this one. Plus what I'm thinking is that we can share information about losing weight and getting fit. Because what is working for me might not work on you or the other ladies. Starting out slow is good and building up every week helps you also. Plus post on what we are doing on this front. The most important thing is that this is a lifestyle change and not a DIET...diets don't work. Becoming healthy and fit is the most important thing esp when we get preggo it will help us and when the lil one's are born we will be in shape to run after them.

Hi Angela, I had written on another post to someone (I can't remember) that I wanted to reduce my BMI (body mass index), so I have been walking briskly at the park near my home. Anyway, I did some research and found that women with a higher BMI are at risk of miscarriages and could have complications in pregnancy. I was always very much in shape....but after 30... I started getting fat in places I never dreamed of!!!!!!!! Honestly, I have felt much better since I have been walking..I am trying to lose 25lbs. I also am cutting out sweets and eating Slim Fast bars for late afternoon snacks. I hope this helps u girls. This week I am going to start lifting 10lb weights to burn the fat off my arms!!!!!!!! EVERYTHING IS A STRUGGLE...UGH!

One more thing....I have a special plan each day of what I am going to eat. I started having Fiber ONe cereal for breakfast w/ fat free milk and fresh cup of fruit, a yoplait fiber one yogurt (it's new), salad with meat at lunch, etc. If u want to know more just ask. I don't eat the same thing every day..I mix it up with different choices etc. The walking has been key for me (about 3 miles a day).

Chelsea...I was so worried after I looked in the mirror in my early thirties..It was a nightmare, I can't even talk about it! I used to and I mean USED to have an excellent shape...now, I look at a donut in Dunkin Donuts and I gain weight. Donuts seduce me!!!!

Carolyn and Chelsa when you hit 30 it is so sad what can happen to your body. I have gained weight since January (I started this mess in January). Big problem area is my stomach. I sent a message to Healthy Jen and she gave me some tips. But my stomach is my weak area. Another area that I dislike like is my bum. How can someone my size have this huge bum (my dh loves it-hehehe) but I dislike it.

I do notice, however that my dh wants to "play" more since I've been working out!!!! yup, we all do it and its so terrible! I always joke that i would shower in clothes if i could cuz i hate my body so much..... i havnt worn a swim suit in years! I dont wear shorts either, its ridiculous that we need to be so self concious!

LOL You two are too funny..........But the sad thing is I know how you feel, I'm right there with you although mine just started last year. Last summer was the first summer I did not really want to wear a swim suit, This summer it is even worse........I told DH I probably would not even buy a swim suit this year and Now he wants to go to the beach in two weeks. Thank you Caroyln! I do this all of the time!!! My dh is such a wonderful person and lovely man. He is very supportive and always telling me that I'm lovely and he loves my body but this is not good for me. My mother died so young and I have always had a terrible time with my weight. It is time to end this mess and take control of my health. I'm 66 lbs overweight and this is not right. My dh is very tall but I'm almost weigh as much as he does. That is not right and I'm short also so it looks bad and feels bad also. My issues are sweets and diet soda and just wanting to watch the telly and not do anything. That is not me! So tomorrow I'm getting off my lazy bum and doing something about it. That is why I wanted to post this maybe it can help someone else and also help me knowing I'm not alone in this crazy mess. Plus I can learn more about the body and what can help everyone!!!!.

I'm looking at things right now that can speed up the Metabolism. I have read some stuff...like green tea and strawberries and grapes can help. Another problem I have is late night eating. My dh and I love to watch movies...esp Sunday's that is our family movie day and we do nothing but watch movies. lol!!!!! But now I'm going to watch movies while working out. Plus the dh will help with this he wants a 6 pack inside of 1/2 of a pack...lol!!!!! (not beer)...lol

I just thought this is a great idea to share things that work and don't work and just have the support system when we have good and bad days! We have enough pressure ttc and I know it feels like we don't have any control on this (that is how we feel) and maybe doing this we have some type of control with our bodies.

Angela, excersise it what definately boosts your metabolism! I stopped diet soda completely...because even though it's "diet" it bloats us up! I have been drinking lots of water and I sometimes add crystal light mix to the water, so it tastes good. Because I have always been in great shape prior to my thirties, I know how to eat healthy...but got lazy in the recent years. My RE told me that lowering my BMI will definately help prevent miscarriage, but of course not guaranteed! Angela, don't worry about the total amount of weight you have to lose...just focus each day at a time and be very concious of what u are eating, but make sure you eat enough..around 1500 calories a day. Because if u don't eat all your calories, your body goes into starvation mode which slows the metabolism. Keep me posted...we are in this together!!!!

Thank you love Carolyn!!!! I believe Veronica and Dr. Q are trying to find some way for us to have better post. Plus Dr. Q should be writing a post about losing weight and ttc. That will help us. I'm getting some stuff on plans for us. Now remember what works for me might not work for you. I have ordered some stuff on kickboxing, pilates, yoga and other stuff. I have some stuff here already:))))

Carloyn, I have always been hard on myself. Plus the money that I have spent on losing weight is terrible. I just would like to be healthier plus I know the increase of having PCOS with this weight. I don't have it yet but you never know. Plus diabitibes (sp) my mother had it and that is what killed her and having a stroke at a young stage. I'm 37 now and it is not funny how my body is out of control with this weight.

Yeah a son he is 12 and when i was pregnant with him i was so sick and didnt eat for the nine months i spent alot of the nine months in hospital i lost over 56lbs and after i had him and i could eat again i have put on so much weight

thanks angel i just had a quick glance and it seems very interesting i will definatly try that i need to buy a new weighing scales i threw away my old one when i was depressed watching the weight go up instead of down so tomorrow i will go out and buy one and start a really healthy eating plan too

I am currently consuming 2000 calories a day. as far as exercise goes i do 2 hours on a air glider machine (simulates walking) that i have and i go far an hour long walk around my town daily! I have limited myself to 3 canned sodas a wekk and I drink about 7 bottles of water a day. i eat about a3 meals and 3 snacks a day. hope that answered your question angelfish!

Hello everyone,

I'm in too!!! I lost 13 pounds on weight watchers (eat dessert almost every night) and I'm trying to lose a few more and keep fit. I just read an article that says we should do 275 minutes of walking a week. You can divide that up anyway you want. I'm going to shoot for about 45 min 6 days a week.

Yes Meghan it did help a lot. Our chat help me remember several things that I use to do. Now I just need to get off my lazy bum....lol. I'm going to limit my carlorie intake to 1200 per day. I going to walk today and do some kickboxing and other stuff. First cleaning the house.

ok so I ate a lil breakfast this morning and charted the infor on fitday.com and I have placed myself on this 1200 per day. Some of my workout stuff is due in. Plus I going to look on the net for other stuff. Has anyone every done Core Rhythms it is some type of ballroom dancing workout cd???? Maybe I'll become a ballroom dance those ladies look awesome...lol.

Ladies here's a tip my gym told me, whenever you start to feel hungery have a drink of water and if your still feeling hungery 30mins later then you really hungery but if you dont feel hungery after you've had your water then you wherent really hungery in the first place. This is coz when you are thirsty your body reacts with the same hunger feeling.

Doing this has helped me lose 10kg over the past few months that Iv been to sick to go to the gym...

Another tip eat breakfast that is the most important meal of the day. Even if it is something small. Make sure you read the labels with food. Fitday.com does provide that information-thank you Carrie on that site. Water Water Water (just like Flutter stated ty dear) is very impt. Plus start out slow....30 min a day and just add on 15 min every day if you can. Now remember when you work out make sure you can carry on a conversation with someone and if you cannot you are working out to hard. Plus music...get some upbeat music that you can listen to. I like listening to music and watching the telly at the same time...I know wierd but that is me. If you can limit or knock the soda. Plus try to treat yourself every once in a while. Try to pick out every mth or 2 weeks a fun night and enjoy something that you have cut out of your plan. We are humans and just like the kids we have or want to have we need a day to enjoy and have fun. Have a date night with your dh and go out to eat "cheat" on the plan. That is good to do and helps you also. Cut down on the sugar and salt....if you do that also you will notice how food taste much better. Plus sugar and salt are not good for you anyway!!!!!

ok, first off i LOVE the "loosin it TTC" its sooooo perfect!

I quickly walked on the treadmil last night to get a head start :)

Walked for 30 min and then ate a nice light dinner. This morning ate 2 nutri-grain low fat waffles and drinking a cup of coffee as i type. Sounds like all great tips above!

Hi Girls, thanks for all of the tips..they are soo helpful. I walked last night for about 1/2 hour and eat a weight watchers meal and dessert. This morning I had a slim fast shake and fresh fruit.

I am so in!! 20 pounds to lose minimum. Did start off so great this am, we have B'day cake in the house. I will definitely try to make up for it the rest of the day, and try to throw a little dog walking or bike riding in as well. This is the second day of temps around 55-60 here in Ohio and I am really hoping that being able to spend more time outside will help!
