Many doc's who are Ob/Gyn and/or FP don't know of letrozole...
The other thing to consider is that the makers of letrozole do not want this med to be used for fertility...indeed, they have basically said if theirs any problems, they have nothing to do with it, and there's lots of press behind this...

I think the reason is Clomid is marketed as a Fertility Drug where as Letrozole is a Breast Cancer medication and REs have tapped the importance of that as a Fertility pill too.
I guess it also depends on the method of approach of each Dr and some REs prefer Letrozole to Clomid as the first form of treatment.
There are women that have had side effects with letrozole as well and some on clomid and no side effects..
