Late period.. what to do ?
August 28, 2007
Okay so this month my period is now 4 days late ! As u can tell on my cycle that i posted before that its not really normal for me to be late. If anything i'm usually early ! I haven't changed my diet and I haven't been stressing about anything more then I normally do. The day after my period was due I noticed my nipples were extremely sensitive and thats not normal for me ! The usual monthly symptoms I get with PMS are sore breast only right there at the side where it kinda meets my armpit, and fatigue and cramps. I haven't gotten ANY cramps like period cramps and i've also been getting horrible headaches. The other morning I woke up at 7am from a headache that made me dizzy when I was laying down so I went to take a shower and I puked. Also I was at work yesterday and my boss got a brownie and I looked at it and it made me puke ! I took 2 hpts and they both came back negaive the first one I took was the night my period was due and didnt show any signs of coming and I took a clearblue digital and then yesterday I took a first response and it came back negative also, which someone mentioned that it might be diluted because ive been drinking a lot of water and I took both tests in the evening so i didnt use early morning urine ! What could be going on with me ? I'm going to try to go to the doctor but they can't get me in until friday so I just wanted your opinion while i'm waiting to go. Thank you
Okay so I took an OPK because I was told that it also can detect the hcg hormone and will come out positive. Well I used the answer opk and got 2 lines the one closest to the left was lighter then the right one .. what could this mean ? Also, I will be taking another hpt in the morning with my morning urine.
The OPK can sometimes detect it, but wouldn't completely rely on these findings (OPK measures LH, hpt measures hCG) because of the different hormones each are checking. You may still be making enough normal LH, that's why it's positive. I'd stick to the hpts and please keep us posted tomorrow morning.
Hi Angel,
I'll try to explain the Journey a bit better, basically when you create a Journey you tell everyone who you are and what your story is (i.e. been ttc for 6 months or so), and because some members including the doctors will want to know what is going on and have updates about you, by posting sometimes in a journey you can tell everyone what's happening on your end, and get also their support. Give it a try and feel free to send me a message with any questions..
thanks!

Thanks for ur update. Mine is 22days late and seems promising. l still keep my fingers crossed till l missed a second period, then l would test again to know whether it will say positive. will still keep u updated. l dont think am under any stress right now, apart from the fact that l was sick at 1dpo - 7dpo of this cycle.

You may have ovulated later than expected, and don't know if you check OPKs to determine this, this is the most likely answer. I would wait and see, recheck your hpt every other day or until your period starts. Remember, after ovulation, you should get your period 14 days later unless pregnant...we're somewhere in this 14 day window (we can tell by your progesterone symptoms) and an hpt won't be positive until 12dpo. Good luck and please kee us posted
