Late ovulation after Laparoscopy?

Cross-light

October 15, 2009

I had a lap 1 week ago which showed endometriosis on ovaries, uterus, and vaginal canal. All of it was removed.

About that time was when I would have typically ovulated. I did not take OPKs or pay attention to cervical mucous b/c of having surgery and assumed this was a break month.

However, TODAY, which is 1 week after lap and typical O time, I am noticing EWCM. Have not gottoen +OPK yet.

My questions is, would having surgery possibly have delayed my ovulation? Could I be ovulating soon and if so is it safe to TTC since I just had the endo removed? (RE said I could resume intercourse after 1 week.)

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!

HI Mrs P....I had Lap in July to remove severe endo, I also did ovulate later that month...by 4 or 5 days I believe.

I would definitely give it a go for the next few days...if you feel up to BD'ing there is no harm in trying right away. The Healing after a lap is usually pretty quick. Good luck and Baby dust!

Thanks wishing... Is there any other reason that you know of why I may be having EWCM???

The only way it would delay ovulation would be if there was a follicle that your doc punctured during the surgery

Well, I got a + OPK today... CD 20, So I'm guessing ovulation is coming!

Dr. Q- I've heard that stress can delay ovulation. I was in a great deal of stress over the sugery, insurance, etc.
