laparoscopy/hysteroscopy is it time?

Jenstar, I had a hysterscopy before my IVF cycle. It wasn't that expensive and it was a piece of cake.

They can do a laparoscopy and just go in and look around to see if theres a problem, without having to do a hysterectomy. My next step is a hysterectomy, which I know is inevitable due to pcos, and all the problems that I have as well as cervical cancer, and only one ovary left right now. However, my ob has given me the chance 6-9 months to get pregnant again first, before he does the surgery...

there is hope jenstar.. just hang in there, I know its hard, believe me I know it is. but there is hope, have you sought a second opinion at all? GOodluck hun!

My Dr. sent me to another dr. for a 2nd opinion because she didn't want to put me through the laparoscopy/hysteroscopy unless truly needed. 2nd opinion dr. said I can either do another IVF which could bypass possible endometrisos. But if I do have something that the other tests haven't shown or the fibroid is going a little into the uterus and doesn't show that on the SIS/ U/s then the longer I wait the more time I waste. We aren't ready to do another IVF.

Jenstar, I had my hysterscopy the same day I started stims. So I would assume you can start right away.

I am wondering if I should do a lap as well

but what are the risks???

Hi Ladies.....i've had a lap in May and got prego a week later. I had stage II endo removed. I did have a family history b/c my mom had to have a hysterectomy due to endo after she had me and my sister. Its not a bad surgery. I was more uncomfortable with the gas that they use to blow up your belly then my incisions. I had it on a Friday and was back to work on Tuesday (Monday was Memorial day or I would have been back Monday). The worst part is the day after, the day of when you get home from the hospital is hardly painful since you are so doped up on hospital meds and the effects of anestesia. If your ins pays for it, then I would go for it. Just make sure that you tell your dr that if they do find endo you want to have it removed cuz if you dont then you'll have to go back for another surgery to have it removed. Endo can interfere with implantation and i think that was the case with me since i've always ovulated on my own with no progesterone issues.

Today the nurse called and told me that they don't have any appointments available until the very end of December. I was really upset and asked if I could do it with another Dr. I finally decided to go through with it and they want me to wait so long!!! UGGGG The nurse will call me soon, hopefully and let me know if another dr. in the practice is available.
