Rilda- sounds like you need to call your OB.. I would say with some back pain, and some discharge, you are on your way!

This is my first child and I have no clue what to expect with labor....

When I went into labor..I had major back pain at first. Didn't realize what it was until the contractions kicked in..and it was all back labor. I'd say call your doc and get checked..sounds like your lil one is on the way :)

listen i went to the hospital with back pains the nasty nurse said you are not even contracting. and went on to say how i was going to be discharged but she will have the doc check me i was 6 centimeter i was having back labor nurse felt like an ass after that call doc better to be safe then sorry

ps do a lot of walking that will help back labor go to the front

I am excited and nervous at the same time. I went to the hospital last saturday because I thought my water broke but it was a false alarm and i was sent home =[ My OB's office is closed on weekends and I don't have a number to call... he always tells me to just go to the hospital and they will page him, but I really dont want to have another false alarm and when I call the hospital they just tell me to call my Dr. I am not sure what to do...

Rida, I only had lower back pain and thought it was the regular ache but..I was in labor n was 7 cm+ when I finallu went to the hospital. I never experienced labor pain in the front. just back and had the constant back ache for over 8 hrs it was actually labor..so pls do not delay and call ur dr.

better safe than sorry. if u have any labor sign, best is to go to the hospital for the sake of your n the babys well being. its risky to assume its not labor or be embararassed by what the nurse or Dr may say if you are not.

my back pain just started about an hour or so ago and it isnt pain full just a dull ache near my tail bone... how are you suppose to know if its labor or not? Sorry If i am asking silly questions or too many at one time. Like I said this is my first and I am only 20 yrs old so i don't know much about any of this stuff....

yup i had the same thing. started as dull and in time became powerful contractions. Dont worry about asking questions. But if I were you, I would be in the hospital right now honey..not the time for online advise..have a safe delivery and pls keep us all posted.

ok it cant hurt you will not be the first to go into hospital with false labor trust me you should not be embarresed when you move does the pain go away

first of all just the fact that you are losing more mucus plug is enough of a sign to go tothe hospital dont wait

nope still at home... the pain went away about two hours and thirty minutes after I asked about it. My mother in law doesn't think its anything I should be worried about and keeps telling me that I shouldn't go until my water breaks or until the pain is an 8 or 9 on a scale of one to ten. I'm guessing this is just normal back pain?....

I had a dull backache about 12 hours before I went into labor. It was a dull ache that just didn't go away and then the next morning I woke up to strong back labor contractions. I probably would go to the hospital if your contracting regularly or your water breaks, but your body is getting ready. Good luck and let us know what happens.

my water did not break until I was 10 cm dialated.

Thats what I keep trying to tell her! I think its something like only 10% of people actually have their water break before they go into labor! I think my body is just getting ready for the real thing, though. I know if something doesnt feel right or if i get too worried I will not think twice about going to the hospital, no matter what she says.. lol I'll be going to see my OB tomorrow though and I can ask him about all these things and see what he would like me to do! He doesn't allow his patients to go past the due date more than a week so at least I know if I don't go into labor soon I'll be holding my little girl in a little more than a week!

Well the app. wasn't as great as I had hoped but I have a non-stress test on saturday and am scheduled to be induced on monday! That is if my little one doesn't want to come out on her own! I'm hoping I will have her before then because I have heard some horrible stories about being induced, but lucky for me the Dr. is going to try breaking my water first so i am crossing my fingers that i don't have to get any of that icky pitocin!
