I am 35 and TTC#1 for over 2 years. I had a HSG which showed my right tube completely blocked and left side the dye flows all the up but does not flow out.
I just had my first IVF. 30 eggs was retrieved and had 21 embryos on day 3. Two 8 cell embryos, both grade ones were transferred and it was a BFN. We still have 19 3 day embryos frozen, which are all top quality(all 10, 8 and 7 cells) We want to do a Frozen cycle now, but I am afraid that this will not work either. I have read alot about hydrosalpinx, which can reduce the pregnancy rate even with IVF. My RE has has told me whether I have hydro based on the HSG. But, the way I understand it is that hydro diagnosis can only be definitly made via laproscopy. Do you at your center do these laproscopies? Do most RE do these laps? And, how much will it cost to have a diagnostic lap to see hydro and also remove the hydro tube IF present?
I just dont want to go through all the 19 frozen embryos and spend all this money, just to later on find out that I had a hydro that was killing the embryos, and by then I will be 40 years old and have to use a donor egg.
Also, another question: In your experience if one has blocked tubes with no hydro, is the success for pregnancy via IVF less than someone with other diagnosis.
