IVF information

Nin, I am currently doing an IVF cycle. They will do alot of bloodwork to check your hormone levels. You will be placed on some kind of ovarian suppression medication like Lupron and/or BC. You will then go in for a baseline ultrasound and bloodwork to make sure that you do not have any cyst. Then you will start stimulation meds like Gonal-f, Follitism, Repronex. These meds recruit multiple follicles and aid in there growth. You usually take these meds for about 10 days and are monitored closely by u/s and b/w. Once your dominant follicle reaches 18mm, a hcg trigger shot will be given. You will go in 34 hrs later for your retrieval. On the day of the retrieval your partner will give his sperm specimen so that the eggs can be fertilized. Three to five days later, the embryo is placed back in your uterus by transfer.
