IVF break

Don't really know the explanation for this...can simply say the "ovaries are tired" after being hyperstimulated and may not be as many follicles...this is just speculation but is a phenomenon that is seen...after a month off at least, then things return to normal..

oh, i spose those ovaries are a bit stressed and overworked right now. They did their job but my uterus was slackin i guess.

Chels if u dont mind me ask, did u have ovulation issues or is it the male factor that made you go through IVF/IUI? The reason I ask is because when u are on ur break from medication, may be u can try No meds with IUI if ur insurances covers it?

no issues with anything for me that any of the test can find. I have always ovulated without meds and didnt have issues getting pregnant with my kids from a previous marriage.

We got pregnant 4 months after we started trying but lost it at 5.5 weeks then started going with IUI's and now the IVF.

Hubbys sperm is ok, some morphology but doc wasnt all that upset about it so dont know if its all that terrible......

i am just wondering if my body just doesnt like those meds and wants me to stop messin with it. Im sure insurnace would cover it and i may talk to the doc about IUI's without meds but only without the trigger shot and just by takin OPK's.

Worth a shot since i cant do meds this time around anyway.

Yes Chels, u shud give that a shot. OPK + No Meds + IUI

I think Hope is right! Just try on your own for a few months with using OPK's and IUI! Maybe the meds dont agree with your body and this is your body's way of saying hey leave me alone and I'll get peggers!

i tlaked with the doc yesterday - finally could answer his calls and not cry. We talked about a lot adn i found out that more than half of the eggs they took out of me were not fertilizable because they had a shell but nothing inside! How frickin crazy is that?!?!? He said its pretty rare that they see that, gosh im so sick of hearing how strange my body is so i have chosen to just do a natural cycle this time and maybe use some OPK's to see whats up and not really even worry much about it all. Then with next cycle talk to doc aagain about another IVF cycle - he seems to think it will go better and i wont have "empty eggs" this time around and they will push me a lot harder with more meds - 2 different kinds of the stimulating meds at the same time.

Right now i am looking forward to no shots and not doc visits and just getting over this stupid flu or cold or whatever it is cuz it stinks!
