IUI

July 22, 2008

After already having had one successful stimulated IUI am I more likely to be successful again?

I don't think your odds change with the number of times you do it, but I could be wrong. I think your odds are determined by what your issue is. For example, I'm doing an IUI tomorrow (for the first time) because my husband's sperm values are off. I ovulate normally, etc. But it turns out that women who don't ovulate have a slightly higher rate of success doing IUI. You should speak with your doctor about your success rate.

I wish us both luck!

Hi Christine - yes my husband has a mild motility issue. I have no fertility problems. My hubby is SO keen to have a baby and Im really hoping we can succeed again. Good luck with your IUI tomorrow and let me know how it goes. As mentioned earlier - I had success with my first IUI so be very positive!

I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like you have a decent shot, Scarlet! My husband, unfortunately, has low motility (25%) and low morphology (2%).

GOOD LUCK! Let's share notes on how things go. My IUI is tomorrow morning!

Hi Christine - I wish you and your hubby all the best!

I agree with Christine, your odds are good since you were able to conceive easily last time...the odds don't change much for you as an individual person, unless you're >35y/o

Thankyou Dr Q - your reassurances are so comforting and I appreciate them more than you know.
