IUI

July 16, 2008

Hi. I have recently completed an IUI cycle using 150mg Clomid days 5-9. My Estrogen was slow to rise, actually dropping slightly on day 12 then rising again immediately. On CD 17 I was at 2285 with follicles 23, 17, and 14. We did the trigger and a double IUI. Dr is saying because I am slow on the clomid I should do injections (gonal F). Does this sound right so soon or should we try the clomid again?

Becka hopefully you will get your BFP this time. Good luck! What day are you on?

Hi Carrie,

Thanks for the note. I'm on CD 30 of 31. All my HPT's have been negative. Since my estrogen took so long to raise I'm trying to hold out hope that maybe the HCG is just slow to rise to. I do a blood test tomorrow to confirm one way or the others.

Never a bad idea to move on to Gonadotropins as they increase pregnancy rates substantially, but ultimately your decision

you can always go on Clomid again, upto you, but after 3 attempts and no pregnancy, then definately a reassessment is warranted

Thank you. This was my fourth IUI, but 1st in these circumstances (using a donor now due to Male issues). I feel like I'm starting over and want to give Clomid another try BUT I want to increase my chances too. The cost is a big factor as nothing is covered and its all out of pocket, including the donor cost.
