Is this my period? Im supposed to start clomid...

"Sunday" = CD 2 (if spotting counts) Stopped taking Provera on a Wednesday night. Spotting started yesterday (Sat) so I am 4 days POST provera right now with still light spotting. No flow however it is brownish red in color. Sorry TMI

im not to sure lake i think u should just call ur doc tomorrow and see what he says because they say cd1 is the full flow not spotting but some ppl spot for a couple of days before getting a full flow so maybe 2nite or by tomorrow morning it will be a full flow

i took provera for 5 days 2 pills a day and i got af on the 3rd day after my last pill

one time my doc gave me 10 pills of provera one pill a day and i got af on the 9th day of taking the pill i called my doc she told me dont take the last pill

I too had to take provera and then clomid to get pg with my first baby. My doctor told me, that the first sign of anything should be considered CD 1. I would definately call and talk to your doc though. My daughter is now a few months away from being 5 years old, and my hubby and I have just started the process again to try to give her that baby brother she's been wanting. I had to take the provera as I do not start on my own, and I have just yesterday taken my last clomid pill. Now we're praying for a pos OPK. I had huge problems with provera. I would do 10 days worth then id spot for 10 days. eventually Id take the clomid when I was still spotting only to find that my real period would arrive a few days later!

Then one cycle I waited and waited i spotted for 10days then nothing that was it the spotting was my period! so no supprise to say I have 7 wasted go's at clomid. I hope things go a lot better for you than they did for me!

Mgmom thanks so much for writing me back ... I LOVE to hear when people actually conceive on Clomid! How many rounds did it take and what mg?

Ive spoken with my Dr about this in the past - ANY bleeding is considered day 1 so Im pretty sure he will want me to go with yesterday (8/22/09) as day 1. I am (fingers crossed) having more flow today ... just started around 5 or so. I pray it continues and proves to be a period. I am wondering what 1 day could mean ... like today is more period like than yesterday so I wonder what the difference would be if I started it 5 days from today. Also I see where Drs start clomid on days 3-7 and 5-9 but what about 4-8. I wonder if I should just take 5 days from yesterdays first bleed ... it was certainly there versus NOT there. Hard to explain I guess.

Anyway, I will let you know what my Dr says ... thanks again and I hope this is our month!!!

I got really lucky my first time around with the Clomid. I was on 5mg days 3-7. I never ovulated on my own, and even after that first round of Clomid, I never had a pos OPK (tested days 11-15) however I was surprised when I went to the doc to start another round, only to find out I was preg. (I guess i ovulated on day 16?) I had convinced myself it wasn't going to happen because you always hear about people having to do multiple rounds of Clomid before it takes. LOL I almost fell of the table when the nurse came in and told me it was a pos test. So I know some people have side effects with Clomid, but I consider it my Miracle Pill. I'm praying for the same results this time around. And I will be praying for you and your miracle also. Aww what great luck MgMom - I PRAY that we are both that lucky this time. Im worried after reading Coley's message ... I have a lil bit more flow tonight ... I just hope that this IS my period even if it gets heavier ... I just want to make sure I start my clomid at the right time annnnd that it works and I get pregnant right away... haha wishful thinking huh? MgMom do you have PCOS or were you taking any other medication last time (ie metformin, etc)

Coley -I REALLY hope that my provera experience is different. Yesterday (3 days after last provera pill) I had spotting but no flow. Today was the same but I feel like it does have some actual flow but still really light. It is red an dark red in color with minimal clots (I dont usually have clots) TMI sorry. Did you ever talk to our Dr about when to start clomid when you were spotting? Ive talked to my Dr in the past and he considers any bleeding as a period start. I dont think Ive ever wished that I had heavy flow ever before in my life until now. Never say never I guess.

What ended up happening with you ... did you ever get pregnant and if so, what did you do?

Hi again Lake, No I don't have PCOS, they have not been able to find a reason for not ovulating, but my doc says it is most likely due to my weight.

So, have you talked to your doc? When are you going to start Clomid?

It's so nice to have someone in the same situation to talk to. This whole process is just so frustrating and it's easy to feel like your the "only one". Thanks again.

hello. Sorry to make you worry!when I had the spotting but nothing else it was too late by the time i realised it just wasnt coming. My dr said that was probably my period just a thin lining that month. from then on spotting counted. (id usually get an acutal period eventually, the longest I ever waited was 21days after provera.Maybe the reason It never worked for me)

I wish I could say something more positive.....how many round of clomid have you been on?

Id just listen to your doc if they say spotting counts then go for it.If a heavier flow arrives you will know to wait for it next month. At least clomid doesnt cost a fortune if it should not work out a few times. :) I never got periods when I was younger...or even now for that matter (PCOS)and it never bothered me, like you when trying to start fert treatment id never wished for it harder in my life!

at the moment Im 10DPO after my first injectable cycle . If id had the money id have done it a lot earlier . You know whats going on with an injectable cycle with frequent blood tests and ultrasounds which makes it a lot easier on impatient people like me lol.
