Is there a type of sperm washing that is used if there is poor morphology?

there is only one type of washing and performed in a machine that all Re's have. The idea of the wash is to get rid of the bad and the poor moving one's and all that is left is the good sperm that's why the count drops so much.

very simple process and the good thing is that you will be able to bd later to make it feel more natural. ***babydust***

The washing helps like lady said cuz it gets all the crappy ones out of the mix so the good ones have all the room in the world to get to that egg and fertilize it!!!

the wash is just a filter machine when you have pasta and drain the water out that is what the machine does for the wash

yes all the poor sperm are removed during the wash and all that is left is the good moving sperm just remember in a sa they count all sperm dead, alive, the one's with morp issues and slow moving when the wash is done it goes thur a very fast spin and all the bad ones including morp is "washed" out in a sense. you will see the different in his count before and after the wash it will go down.

My DH has like 270 total motile sperm, but morph is only 1%. This is good news that they can sort out the ones with poor morph cuz his counts and motility are good.

one can have to much sperm and if to much they cannot move and clumping can occur also if there are to many dead and even to many sperm that have morp issues it can lower your chances of getting that bfp natural. Hopefully the IUI will be a better chance for you both. We have done it for several cycles and it's not bad at all. Good luck.

It doesn't necessarily get rid of 'bad' sperm. Some of the less motile ones will separate out, leaving the healthiest, but the main purpose of sperm wash it to separate the seminal fluid & debris from the sperm cells, since semen is toxic if injected directly into the uterus. It's spun in a centrifuge, the sperm spin down to the bottom, and that what they use for insemination.

in the terms of not moving or the dead ones and morp yes it will get rid of them however if bad in the terms of risk of miscarriage (genetic issues) no it will not. the only way to know that is via IVF+PGD however that isn't 100%.
