Hi my name is Ashley. I have recently got married to a wonderful man. I am 19 and about to be 20. We have been trying to have a baby for a year now. I take 3 primrose oil pills a day, along with woman's one a day vitamins.I follow my ovulation with calendars, I do all the superstition positions, but still nothing. For about 4 months i have been having irregular periods, until the end of last month when i was on for 13 days!! I have heard rumors that people who are young sometime cant get pregnant because their bodies need to adjust to the idea of intercourse and pregnancy, is this true? I want a baby so bad and i don't understand why im not getting pregnant. Any advice anything im not trying that i need to be?

i have never heard that. If your periods have bee irregular, are you sure you are ovulating? are you using opk's or taking your temperature to confirm ov??

I have been taking my temperature and i have had the discharge. I think im ovulating. Is there anything that i could do/tkae to make sure?

Are you charting your temps on a website?? I know fertility ties is going to have that capability soon, but in the meantime there are other sites out there (like www.fertilityfriend.com). I also recommend using ovulation predictor kits. Its like a pregnancy test, but you take it to see when you get your LH surge (which is usually 12-36 hours before ov!).

But it sounds like your periods have become irregular. Perhaps its time to see your ob/gyn just to see why!? it might be that you have a cyst? that one of your hormone levels is off? it could be a million things...and a lot of them aren't serious! but i would suggest you call your doc!

Mrs. Copeland: Try using Ovulation Predictor Kit...you can get them anywhere...walmart, target, cvs, walgreens, whereever! It looks like a HPT but it actually picks up your LH surge...start peeing on the OPK starting CD 9 or CD10 and when you get 2 dark lines, you will ovulate 24-36 hours later...so you know your most fertile window....

Good luck to you, and don't get discouraged. I think that trying the others' suggestions will work for you, and if you are not sure that you are ovulating after a couple months, then go in for a vaginal ultrasound and/or a day 21 progesterone level, and that will tell you for sure if you are ovulating.

Another suggestion: take the primrose only up to ovulation, after you ovulate you can switch to flaxseed, expecta (brand), or just start the epo again after you get your next period. Wishing you the best!

I'm nervous and worried...lol and i cant help it :( After we got married my husbands job shut down and we aren't doing so good financially. It forced us to move. I don't live close to any of my friends, nor my family. I don't really have anyone to talk to, except my sister-n-law, but she has 5 kids and one on the way, so don't want to bother her. We don't have insurance...so me going to the doctor might not work out too well :( things just aren't going too good...I'm so stressed...and tired :( How do you guys keep your strength up?
