Is it unusual to have sac, yolk and fetal pole but no fetal heartbeat at 6 weeks 5 days?

Are you bleeding at all? I was 6 weeks last week and had bleeding when I went in for the ultrasound and had all that and it ended in a miscarriage. I'm sorry! i know how it feels! we tried for 12 months and had a week of joy and lost ours as well! Its hard!! hang in there!!! Why did you have a u/s? Thats pretty early usually at 8 weeks!

I did ivf, so I am considered high risk at this point. No heavy bleeding, I had light pinkish/brownish discharge around week 5 but nothing since last friday, also in that week i had minor back cramps in the middle of the night that only last for about 5 minutes or so. I guess they are just trying to play it safe w/ me at this point bc it did take us so long...I am so sorry for your loss as well, lots and lots of baby dust your way!!!!!!

jamie - I have been there and I know how it feels...but I read of some cases its too early to hear h/b. Did you hear it earlier and is it absent now or is it the first time ever they checked for h/b? sending lots of baby dust and (((Hugs)))

I had no h/b at 5w6d but did have a sac and yolk sac. Then at 6w5d we had a h/b so I dont know when the h/b started but it was sometime in there. Maybe you are just too early. I know Dee on this site didnt see a h/b until 8 wks, so I wouldn't give up yet. Definitely don't get a D&C until at least 8 weeks if that is what they are recommending and not until they do another u/s that same day. A Yolk sac is very promising because it means its not a blighted ovum! Seriously - I dont want to give you false hope, but it does happen sometimes. If your beta numbers are going up ok and the sac is measuring as it should and stuff hang in there! You arent out yet!!!

(Oh, and at 5w6d we didnt even have a fetal pole yet - I bet the h/b will start any day now) :)

When is your next Appt?

Same here, 5 wks 6 days i had no fetal pole or heartbeat, and now they are saying im either 1 or 2 wks ahead...so if thats the case when i was 5 wks 6 days i really was 6 wks 6 days....and all there was gestational sac with yolk sac....:-)

my next appt is friday!!!! but they know exactly when i conceived due to ivf.....

I am 6 weeks 5 days! And they know exactly due to egg retrieval, at 5 weeks no fetal pole then at 6 weeks a fetal pole no hb... now 6 weeks 5 days and still no fetal hb....
