I have had regular periods for many years, I got my first period when I was 10 years old. My husband and I want to get pregnant and we've been doing the ovulation predictor kits that test your urine and also the basil body temp. I never seem to have a hormone surge using either method. Is it possible I am not ovulating? My periods are regular and I can clock them to the dot. They come on the same day as the month before. Rarely it'll come a day or 2 early or start a day or 2 later but for the most part it's always the same day. My periods are about 5 days of bleeding. I never have extremely heavy or light periods. They are about average. I have cramps on occasion but for the most part I will but hardly ever have them. I am worried that I am not ovulating. I just went in for a physical and PAP and everything was normal and the pap came back clean. What should I do? I really want to be a mom and to get pregnant. It's only been a few months since we officially started trying. So my doc said to give it some time but I wanted to ask you for advice.
I haven't been on birth control for at least 6 months and when I was it was the patch and I was on it for about 2 years.
Please help I really want to start our family.
Thanks in advance

If you've been consistently checking OPKs and BBTs and not getting a positive surge, then I would suggest you find an RE who can stimulate you with meds, monitor follicular growth through ultrasounds, make you ovulate and hopefully this and of itself will soon make you a mommie. The physical and PAP will not tell anyone anything about your ovulation patterns. You can use our Find A Clinic feature on this site to find an RE near you, and please keep us posted and we're wishing you the best.
