Is having Brown Period normal?

Ok so all today I've been having brown blood (kinda clot like). It's not a flow where I need a tampon. I had red bleeding for a bit yesterday morning. But I've had this years ago and my doctor said if your period is light it could be like this. I used to get this when my cycles were longer and my doctor said it's anovulation. I'm CD47. I received a pos digital opk CD18. Neg blood test on CD38. The last time before blood test that we bd was CD22. My regular period is 35days. I'm supposed to start Clomid tomorrow. But I'm just wondering if it's true about the brown blood being my period. I also have light red spotting every once in awhile. I used to get this every other month years ago, but lately I've had a regular flow. I just don't want to screw up my cycle by taking Clomid. But I swear it's my period - just light. My bbt this morning was 97.90, but I got up and walked around a bit before realizing I forgot to take it.
