Irregular cycles after Tubal Reversal

July 17, 2008

I have 2 healthy children from my first marriage ages 14 & 10, my current husband and I want to have a child together so after 9 years of having my tubes tied we had them reversed in April 2008. Only one tube was repairable but I was told that it was in very good condition and that everything looked good. Since we have been trying to conceive, I have taken my BBt, monitered my cervical mucus and the position and texture of my cervix. My temperature never really spikes up there 98.5 is highest but never stays up there. I can feel when the cervix is open and soft like my lips, I can also see a slight change in my cervical mucus but nothing major however, my periods are ranging from month to month. I have had 3 different cycles one was 44 days, one 35 days and the last in June was only 29 days. I am currently 12 days late and noticed a pink discharge this morning twice but nothing else for the remainder of the day. Can you please help me to understand what is going on...why are my cycles so messed up is this normal after a Tubal Reversal or should I be worried that I might not be ovulating or able to conseive? Should it take me a little time to get back to normal and become able to conceive??

Hi Tonya now with you're temps that is normal for them to go down if you are not preggo (if preggo they will be >98). Has you're dr done a hcg to see if the tubes are clear? Also talk to your dr about placing you on fertitly meds to help you're ovulation. It sounds like you are ovulating at different times of the mth ..also start using opk's (ovulation predictor kits) to help you know when you are ovulating. Now if you are 12 days late do you know when or if you ovulated with this cycle. If you know it's time to take a hpt or you can visit your dr and/or er for a beta (blood test) and progestore test (to see if you ovulated)

Hi,

agree with angelfish, since it was a difficult repair, may want to consider an HSG, but tubal reversal in and of itself shouldn't affect menstrual cycles much, and outside of the 44day cycle, the others are within normal limits
