I really want to get pregnant as soon as possible. My fathers dying of cancer and I want him to be able to meet at least my first child. I been with my boyfriend for several years and were both ready I just stopped taking birth control (Alesse) about 3 days ago and have had unprotected sex everyday as he finished in me. Today I seem to have got my period. What can I do?

of course you will get your period when you stop taking the pill.
the pills that you take when you come to the end of the packet(the differnt coloured ones that make you have your period) are just iron tablets, therefore if you had to stop taking the pill at any time, your period would start a few days later. i know its not a good think to do but i used to use the pill to control when i wanted to have my periods, if i knew that my period was due on a weekend we had planned to go away, i would just start another course to delay my period, and then stop for a few days to have my period when i knew i was comfortable to.

i would suggest to read up a bit more about ovulation, for a normal cycle this normally happens 14 days before your period.
to be honest your best bet is just to have sex every other day, that way you should not miss your most fertile day, and sperm can last up to two days inside you.
also cut down on caffeine and alcohol, and if you smoke, stop!
also start to take folic acid, this will also be part of a good pregancy vitamin, there are many to choose from. read the lables.
good eating habbits too please!! small frequent meals are better than 3 big ones!!
i have managed to fall pregnant twice, in the first two months of trying, with these few tips. though my luck ran out, i lost them both, both spontaneous miscarriages(very early). i dont mean to scare you, but i just happen to be the tiny percentage of women with bad luck! Chances are it will never happen to you!
i will start to try again next month, i was told to wait 2 cycles and try again, we might just be preggo buddies!!
