I started clomid last month 11/10 50mg with no success and got a preiod this month 12/10. My Dr. said that day 21 test from 11/10 showed that I ovuated, but I want to know is there anything more that I can do this month before ovulation to increase my chances of becoming pregnant. If your tubes are blocked can you still ovulate?

Hi wishingamiracle and welcome to FertiltiyTies!

Yes, even if your tubes are blocked you can still ovulate.

However, when tubes are blocked it's not possible for the sperm to connect with your eggs and best to talk to an specialist as there are many treatments to help.

good luck and babydust!

Hi Wishing! Veronica is right. If both tubes are blocked you can still ovulate but the egg and sperm can't meet. If that's the case, IVF is really your only option. If only one tube is blocked it's still possible to get pregnant, but usually, you ovulate on your left side one month and your right the next. So (with rare exceptions) you pretty much only have a chance of getting pregnant every other month (the month you ovulate on the side w/the open tube). I have 1 tube blocked (from endometriosis) but the other is open. I haven't gotten pregnant yet, but they had me try clomid + injectables (gonal F) to really stimulate the ovaries so I produced eggs on both sides and then we did IUI. It didn't work for me, but that's a reasonable option if 1 of your tubes is open.

Oh Im sorry that you didn't achieve your goal and hope you have more luck in the time to come. It gets so frustrating because all this time of trying them I found out I wasn't ovulating and when I did lst month I had hopes that I would become pregnant. Hopefully this month brings better luck for us both because I wanted so badly to concieve before the new year. Good luck
