If you are having your period does that mean your follicular cysts are going away?

Hello to all;

i have a question about 3days ago i was diagnosed with a follicular cyst and my doctor has placed me on bcps for 3 months( don't agree with her), but ohwell. Today i have my period and wanted to know that if i have mpy period does that mean the cysts are moving on alone with no meds. I really don't want to take the bcps but i really don't want to hurt my chance of ttc i've been ttc for a year now. I see no ways of getting rid of the cysts without the meds although some people said that they do go away alone; about a month ago i had an ultrasound/pelvic exam but they saw nothing so how come this was so sudden. I had a d&e in augu/08 and a previous mc in jan/08; so i'm not sure what to do. They have order some test such as FSH LH ,prolactin and beta oestradiol and CA 125 and some other ones are those correct blood work if anyone has gone through these ordeals. Thank you so much, i am 26yrs old newly married so this is kind of a hardship on our marriage. Thank you so much and have a great day

All depends on what kind of cyst this was.. if it was a corpus luteal cyst (which sounds like it truly was given the timing and the previous month history) then yes, this is a very normal and expected cyst that should go away on its own during a period. Talk to your doc more about this and hope you have a good normal pregnancy soon
