if a women ovluate once then how so many eggs help her?

Hi rabi and welcome to the site! It will depends if all the follices (inside have the eggs) are mature and if so they will all ovulate within mintues of each other. Typically, a woman will ovulate one egg during each cycle. Clomid is given for those who do not ovulate on their own, to actually ovulate...at least one egg, if not more; also given for those who DO ovulate on their own, to possibly have more eggs equaling a great chance of getting pregnant.

then my question with regard to clomid would be, if they give it to women who do ovulate to help them produce more eggs, what's to say those eggs are able to be fertilized? I guess my point is and where my confusion stands is, when you do ovulate on your own, didn't your body already ovulate the strongest most dominant egg? and if by using clomid, maybe you end up ovulating more eggs, but not nec dominant eggs?

On clomid you will ovulate (hopefully) multiple eggs mature enough to fertilize in hopes that the sperm have more 'targets'.
