i have pcos. should i really have to take metformin? what can i do to regulate my period.

i've been trying to conceive for 1 year and had 4 cycles of clomid already. my period is irregular. during clomid, there are follicle according to the ultrasound but i don't ovulate on day 14. metformin has a nasty effect on my gi tract. can i take vitex and evening primrose oil and vit b6 instead?
