I am 29, my partner is 49 and we have been trying for around 2 years with no success. I am booked into a fertility clinic on 8 December but wondered what you could tell me about the above?
I have been told that my pituitary gland is fine but that it is having to work overtime to attempt to get my ovaries to do 'something'. I have been told that these hormone levels indiciate either a lack of eggs or that my ovaries are not releasing them.

Much depends on if you're having regular menstrual cycles also, as this would mean there's still some ovarian reserve. But regardless in most cases, a high FSH does mean egg reserve is low and pregnancy will be difficult. The good thing is your age at 29
