I have seen a fertilitiy specialist whom said I have an auto immune disorder and MTHFR. I also have a short luteual Phase. I had 3 miscarriages in 8 months and now since April I have not gotten pregnant. I am on Prometrium, Prednazone, and extra folic acid & prenatal vitimin. I do have a son that is 2 1/2 years old and went into preterm labor with him at 24 weeks. So I guess my question is what should I do next. I sent up an appointment with a rheumatologist. I had a hystosonpinogram and it turned up fine back in february. I also started clomid 3 months ago in an effort to help but nothing so far. Just very confused, I feel lost and I dont know what steps should be next. My husband had a seman analysis and it came back good as well. It has now been a year and a half and no pregnancy - please help me with what ever you can. Thanks you.

I have Lupus, which is an autoimmune disorder, although is has not been active in many many years. With a lot of the autoimmune disorders, your body makes antibodies that can often causes miscarriages. In some women with Lupus (and other disorders), their bodies produce antibodies that can cause blood clots in the placenta, etc....which can cause a miscarriage. They are often put on blood thinners, from what I've read. You've made the first step in setting up an appointment with a rheumatologist. Hopefully they will run some blood work that will help pin point the problem. I'm sorry you are going through this. I know it must be difficult. Don't give up hope though. Did your RE run any tests to determine what antibodies your body is producing?

I know that they checked me for the major auto immune problems and they all turned up negative. I was on heparin for a while but they ran my tests again and relized that I did not have to be on heparin anymore. So since i have been on all of these meds I have not even been able to conceive (8 months) which seems odd considering I got pregnant 3 times in 8 months - i thought that being on these med we would be in the clear - but urggggg. Thanks for your help and i really appreciate it.

did you have a D&C Trouble? Maybe a hysteroscopy to check to see if you have lingering tissue blocking the walls to your uterus....you may be fertilizing, but cannot implant due to this?? Just an idea.....Good Luck!!! I hope you get this figured out quickly, so you can get back on track to your little one(s). :)

i did not have a D & C with any of them. I did have a hysteroscopy in february and it came back fine- no blockage- that was after 2 of my miscarriages - my 3rd miscarriage was considered a chemical pregnancy so it just came out in my period a few days later. i am considering another cause something is just not adding up - i am ovulating each month and my husband is fine - i even went to a accupuncturist cause i am just grasping at different straw - thanks for all you help though

I hope you do find the right avenue...the one that does add up. :) It really doesn't seem right, you are so right. I would go with your gut feeling. Thank you so so much - i truly appreciate all and any help. I think that is why it is so hard right now cause I dont seem to have the right answers - and it is very hard to get them :):):) tons and tons of test just to leave me each month questioning what is going on - but again thank you for your concern and help - it means more than you think :):):)

I so know how you feel...I have been 3 yrs ttc #2, been ovulating, even went to IUI and Clomid and Femara, for several rounds and nothing. Did HSG, and was "cleared" as normal and open tubes, no obstructions. Year later, still no baby, we did a lap/hysteropscopy that found polyps in utero, and my tubes were totally blocked. It just doesn't make sense, but there is likely something not aligned quite right. I am so sorry to hear anyone has to be in this boat...it is so frustrating and wearing sometimes.

I am glad you found this site...it is so helpful. Keep asking the questions, there are docs here, but also ladies ttc who are nurses in the OB. :) People are so nice here. TTYL. :O)

Thanks again for your help - I feel like my condition is so weird that no one else may have this combination. Waiting on a call from my RE to see what the next step is. So if anyone has any help for me it is greatly appreciated.
