Although many Ob/Gyns will tell you to wait anywhere between 3-6 months, this wait is not necessary. Many of us REs will try again the following month even if the ectopic was removed surgically and I agree with this, so in other words...you have my blessing to start as soon as you're ready. However, if you were given methotrexate (a shot given to you for the ectopic with blood work then drawn repeatedly to make sure the ectopic goes away) then make sure you wait 2 months before trying. The reason being is that methotrexate is a chemotherapeutic agent that is very harmful for an embryo/fetus. Methotrexate should be removed from the body by the end of the month after giving it, but I prefer to wait another month just to make sure.
Thanks, I had it surgically removed. My cycle should be regular next month, we'll see. I ovulated on Maech 12, 2008, but I was told to wait 4 weeks before getting sexually active again. Is this true or can I start in three weeks.
