I didn't ovulate!
November 07, 2007
I had an us done this morning and it showed that the lining on my uterus is really thin and I did not ovulate! I do have several small follicles, the largest is 11. My doctor is putting me on estace for 7 days, then one week after finishing it she wants me to take prometrium again for another 10 days. She said it is possible that I will ovulate without the help of clomid shortly after finishing the estrace because this might help the follicles to grow while increasing the lining on my uterus. Also, I have a large amount of free fluid in my cluldesac and she wants me to see my gyno about this. What could cause the free fluid? I believe this is why I have been cramping so badly. Is there anything that I can do to help thicken the lining? Any advice on where to go from here? Thank you Dr.Q
Thanks Dr.Q and Angelfish. Dara I haven't had a period in 14 months. I was regular every 28 days and then they just stopped. My RE had me take prometrium for 10 days which is suppose to cause a period, this did not work for me. I took clomid 7 days later for 5 days 50mg. Then I took estrace for 3 days, then a week later I took prometrium again for 10 days. Nothing has happened, I am so frustrated. Is your story anything like mine?
Misty,
I think these are definitly good signs. When your lining starts getting thicker and your follicle starts growing it is uaually going to lead to ovulation. Usually my follicles are between 8-10mm and my lining is around a 4. This is all so frusterating ya know? Anyways best of luck to you and sending you loads of ovulation dust and baby dust :)

Estrace is used to thicken the lining, but usually this is done anyways by the growing follicle that will ovulate, unless there is some kind of pathology which is not common...although you may ovulate without clomid, if you didn't this month, you're again running this risk..
Free fluid in the cul-de-sac is very non-specific and can be cause by many different things and is usually clinically when found by itself of little significance and would talk to your doctor more about this..
Good luck, and keep us posted...
