My question is not related to fertility but since u r endocrinologist I hope u could kindly answer my question. My mother age-53 is suffering from hypothyroidism for 10 years. The problem with her is if she takes higher doses like 100µg her pulse rate increase over 100/minute and TSH comes to 0.6-1 but when she takes 50µg TSH goes low like 200 but pulse rate is OK like 80.Now what should we do.Inbetween dosage of 75µg has also the problem of decreased TSH like 8 and increased pulse rate. How to solve this problem?Considering her age what are the risk involved in increased pulse rate? She is taking synthyroid.

To make your mother hyperthyroid is also a problem at 100ugm can lead to heart failure, osteoporosis, and many other problems. Talk to your doc and/or pharmacist, but you can purchase a "pill cutter" at any pharmacy and purchase the 25ugm dose of synthroid. You can cut this pill either in half or four ways and find out which may help (half may be good) to take with the 50ugm. Good luck, and keep us posted.
