Husband with type 2 diabetes

August 26, 2008

Hi there I have a husband who has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes after having a serious illness (blastomycosis). We have a 2 year 5 month old son who was conceived prior to his illness with out any difficulties. We have been trying to conceive for the past 6 months and are not having any luck... He is not suffering from erectile dysfunction but does not always ejaculate... I have read about retrogade ejaculation a little...could this be afactor and is there anything we could try?

If one has had uncontrolled diabetes for several years, then retrogade ejaculation could be a problem...But if only for a couple of years and he's well controlled, chances are this isn't the case...but only your doc can tell

If retrograde ejaculation were present, your partner would still have the "ejaculatory orgasm" but little semen would spill out...

This is exactly what is happening he still has an orgasm but with little to no semen... His blood sugar is under control and when we have talked to his doctor about it she just says that its probably stress!!! But we are no more stressed now than we were before we had our son... I am very thankful that we had Evan when we did, and that he is perfectly healthy and happy and we love him to bits...but I would like for him to have a brother or sister :( Any suggestions as to what type of doctor we should consult for help in this area? Thanks
