Husband sprem analysis

April 14, 2008

Question for you... my husband has not been tested yet. we have been trying since Oct. I have pcos and my husband was on liquid steroids when he was younger. my husband says that he is embarassed to go get tested. which I can understand. how important is it to have ur husband tested... if I know that there is something wrong with me? also has anyone had issues with there husband not wanting to be tested?

thank u so much for ur response! we have had a couple of arguments about it. he keeps saying just give me time. I am trying to be patient. I have heard of places that allow u to bring in the sperm from home. I was wondering how that worked.

Hi Spillman and it is very very very important because male infertility can count up to 40% of US couples having issues with ttc. So what I am saying both couples can have issues with ttc and that is very common now. With him taking steroids could cause issues with his sperm count and his overall health. Plus there are other issues that needs to be look at with male infertility. All of this is produced in the brain just like a woman. Steroids does cause infertility in men. If he did take a steroids I would get his sperm check, blood work done on his FSH level and testorne (sp) levels check. If not for ttc but just for health reasons.

Just to let you know we have a male factor with us and we are trying to get it resolved because his situation could lead to cancer.

Wish you luck and keep us posted!!!!

as far as i know that test only covers the sperm count not the morphology which is a big issue.

My hubby didnt want to go either and the way i got him to go is by telling him the doc said we had do and that i knew there was nothing wrong with him but it was just somthing we had to do. turns out he has the issue

Oh wow. I wish that would work with my husband. He went to first appt with me and the doctor said that he could if he wanted to. I have PCOS so he knows that the main issue is me... I will see what I can do to get him to go.

if anything can work on a man its tears.... gotta bust out the tears and he will go. Men dont know what to do when you cry so they agree to just about anything - LOL!

Yes I tried that two months ago. He said he would work on it. I was going to have to give him time. He says taht it makes him uncomfortable. I told him yes I love going to the dock and putting my legs up in the air. He did not think that was a bit funny. :) I did... lol. I am hoping that I am prego this month DPO8 if not i hope he realizes that he has to go do it. We will see what happens. Thank you for all of your help.
