HSG results ... 1 blocked tube

Hi - I have one tube as well. I had really bad fibroids years ago and 2 years ago one of my tubes had to be removed it was damaged and my Dr now believes the tube I have left is so full of scar tissue our only option was ivf. We just did our ivf transfer yesterday - we started if in July. Needless to say we're anxious and excited. I'm 38 and I've been trying for over 3 years. I will let you know how it goes. Nicmon - Good Luck to you this cycle!! I really hope it works. Im so afraid for what my fertility future holds. I'm 27 and trying for #1 ... we'd love to have 2-3 children - I wish I could know IF I will ever conceive... Not only is it costly (ins doesnt cover), but its painful both physically and emotionally. Im not sure how much of this I can handle. Im trying to stay positive but it appears that nothing is going right ... not Ovulating, 1 blocked tube, DH has low morphology. I probably have better chances of winning the lottery than getting pregnant. Ahhh ignore that - I need to be more positive but right now its SO hard! Keep me posted on your journey!!

Lake... First off I want to say that Im sorry for the news that u got today =( I know that it had to be hard to hear that BUT just know that u can get pregnant with having 1 tube. The thing is with 1 tube is getting u to ovulate from that side that has the tube.

With u not ovulating on ur own then the Clomid should help. Is ur dr following u per a U/S? If the Clomid doesn't give u follicles on the good side then I would discuss either up'ing the dose or moving on to something else. EX: injectables.

When u do ovulate from the good side then u will have a 20-25 % chance of conceiving on ur own. With ur DH's sperm issue then it could take longer. Even with 1 tube it usually takes longer to conceive anyways.

Lake.. I also forgot to say that I recently had a salpingectomy and now I only have my left tube. But problem is that my right overy is the dominet one and I had the salpingectomy on the right side so I have to get my body to ovulate on the left side now.

They do say that ur body will naturally take over but in 20 months I O'ed from the right side more then 75% of the time per U/S. Usually a women will switch sides each month and ovulate every other side but in my case I dont.

Hi Lake - you have every right to feel what you feel. I wouldn't wish what we're going through on anyone and unless your going through it no one can understand. I know what you mean about the emotional toll and don't get me started on the financial toll. At the time we started our IVF cycle my DH got laid off. I was devistated but we went through it. I truly believe God is watching over us and its okay to question "why" and be mad but then we have to keep our eye on the prize. there are to many people out there who have been blessed with children and told "it would never happen" continue to pray and KNOW its going to happen. I'll keep you in my prayers - this site is wonderful because it allows us to get stuff off our chests - that's what we need! BABY DUST!

Awww thanks for your message! In these ecnomic times, Im really afraid to throw thousands, not just a few of them either into the HOPES of getting pregnant. While I know it is completely and 100% worth it ... it just sucks. My husband says we'd probably have 5 kids if we were poor, did drugs, and didnt care ... always seems to happen so easily for people who don't even take care or appreciate what they have. I really do believe it will happen, its like I can see it, feel it but then I keep thinking am I dreaming of something that will never come... ugh I just wish I KNEW it would happen and then I could relax along this ride. Like if God could just show me that in fact I will become pregnant and have healthy babies, I would be totally OK to see how it happens, but right now Im just so scared that it won't. Booooo, being on Clomid and getting this information isn't any better. While it gives me hope to ovulate (since I dont on my own) it also makes me SUPER emotional. At the beginning of this ttc process my DH thought I was crazy and worrying over nothing. He now thanks me for being so proactive as we could have wasted a lot of time trying when it would have been virtually impossible with the issues I have. I'm also not so crazy anymore since I do have major factors that can cause infertility. I suppose everything happens for a reason, this is my Motto in life and I really do believe it is true.

Lake - you are so welcome! Like you I believe everything happens for a reason too. I will continue to pray and wish for healthy pregnancies and healthy babies for us all. I will talk to you soon. I go Back to the Doctor's office on Sept 1st for blood work and then my preg test is Sept. 8th.

Woohooo, Im praying its positive!! Im on CD 8 (day 4 of Clomid) and praying that my egg(s) mature and I actually ovulate AND they go down the correct tube ... the human body is an amazing thing ... I truly believe that it WILL happen for us. I just pray it is sooner rather than later so I can keep some money in the bank and my sanity!! lol

Hey Lake - how are you feeling? I spoke with my nurse today - my remaining embryos stopped growing so they won't be "preserved" so needless to say I'm even more anxious now. I go into tomorrow morning for more blood work - checking my progesterone and estrogen. wish me luck! SENDING BABYDUST YOUR WAY!
